Towards a Semantic Web
- The current web represents information using
- natural language
- graphics, multimedia, page layout
- Performing tasks often requires to combine information (from
different sources)
- Humans can process this easily ...
- can deduce facts from partial information
- can create (and follow) mental associations
- can experience various sensory information (accessibility
issues, here)
- can combine information even if different technologies are
used
- ... however, machines have no intelligence!
- partial information is unusable
- difficult to combine information (different tags, different
hierarchies)
