Multimedia, mathematics, graphics are often essential
elements in the message, and are semantically significant:
- SMIL supports rich multimedia presentations
- MathML allows coding of mathematical formulae (every
component can be individually identified, annotated, origin of
links, etc.)
- SVG is Scalable Vector Graphics, with elements that
can be individually identified, annotated, origin of links,
etc.
